Navigating Children’s Healthy & Age-Appropriate Technology-Use
Doug Fodeman, Grade 7 Internet Literacy Teacher & Database Manager, will be giving a workshop to parents of 5th & 6th graders next Thursday morning, January 12 from 8:15 - 9:30 a.m. in the Dodge Writing Center on the topic of healthy and age-appropriate technology use by children/teens.
Parents can expect to learn about the risks and problems associated with technology and how to best mitigate these risks, as well as understand why children's use of technology is not the same as adult use. Children can have unexpected negative consequences as a result of using technology. Learn what the primary issues are and how you can best protect and guide your children as they use these powerful tools.
Doug will also report on the recent technology survey results reported by the students and some parents. The workshop will be recorded and posted on our Vimeo account for parents who may be unable to attend.
