Director of Development Update

I wrote to you a few weeks ago about the sudden and serious health issue Nick Zaharias was confronted with. We now know this health issue is going to keep him out of work for a significant period of time. Understandably, during this time, Nick’s focus has to be on his health so he has decided to resign his position as Director of Development at Brookwood. This was a tough decision for Nick, as in the short time that he has been with us, he realized not only how special our community is. Nick and I have agreed to stay in touch and once he is fit and well, we may well tap into his expertise as a consultant in the future.

Until we have someone to step into the Development Office, I will take on the development and fundraising duties, closely and very ably supported by Cathy Marrero. I am currently in conversation with some suitable and experienced candidates to take on a full time development role at Brookwood; I will keep you updated.
