Introducing New Teaching Assistants and a Learning Skills Specialist

Tayte Messman will be joining Pam's class as a Kindergarten Assistant. She graduated in 2019 from Colby College with a double major in Theater and Dance and Mathematical Sciences. Tayte most recently held a variety of roles at Moravian Academy in Pennsylvania that included developing and implementing a Spanish immersion program and substituting across many grade levels. She is passionate about how students’ curiosity fuels their learning, and she is eager to bring her wide variety of skills and talents to our community.

Coleen Ilano is our new 3rd Grade Assistant. She is excited to join the Brookwood community and explore all that the North Shore has to offer. She has spent most of her entire life in New England: originally from Connecticut, Coleen went to college in Boston and previously worked in New Hampshire, at Phillips Exeter Academy.

Cynthia Curtis is our new Upper School Learning Specialist. Prior to coming to Brookwood, Cynthia was a reading specialist at Salem and North Andover Public Schools, and she was an inclusion teacher at Newburyport. She also runs an educational consulting business. We are excited for her to bring a wealth of knowledge and passion for teaching to her work as a Learning Specialist.
