January & February PA Events! Fun for the Whole Family!

Happy New Year and welcome back to Brookwood! We hope you all had a great holiday vacation, but there’s probably something comforting about resuming the structure and routine of a school schedule. Maybe part of what makes winter vacation so special is that it is a brief window of time that exists somewhat outside the normal order of school and work life… well as much as we can manage as parents!

Now that we are back in the swing of things in the year 2023, take a look at some of the upcoming fun and informative events the PA has planned for the community:

PA Virtual Cooking Class January 25, 2023; 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

Back by popular demand, the 3rd annual PA Cooking Class is right around the corner. Join us with a chef whose name should sound familiar to the BWD community. Laura Geraty will help us learn new recipes, techniques, and ways to get your kids in on the action. Fun for the whole family! Stay tuned for more tasty details.

PA Parent Wellness and Education Speaker Feb 2, 2023; 8:30 - 9:30 a.m.

Clinical psychologist Dr. Kaitlin Wilbur-Smith will join us to lead a discussion entitled "It's Time to Time In: Supporting Mental Health in Early and Middle Childhood.” Dr. Wilbur-Smith’s presentation is especially timely as focus on the importance of mental health continues to make headlines. As parents, this talk is one not to miss, so mark your calendars! (Huge thanks to Jean Skaane, Wellness Coordinator, and our PA Parent Education and Wellness Committee for coordinating.)

Brookwood on Ice February 5, 2023; 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

After a two year absence, a time honored and much loved school tradition returns in ‘23. This event is a free skate for all BWD families of all ability levels at the Pingree School ice rink. Ice averse? Swing by for hot cocoa, a sweet treat, and a chance to chat with fellow parents!
