A large percentage of the juices we find in grocery and convenience stores contain a lot of added sugar and preservatives that can do more harm than good over time, so one way we can control what goes into our body is by making our own juice! Lower School students fed carrots, apples, lemon and ginger through a juice machine (not a blender!) and came up with a tasty concoction of what they named, “Bunny Juice”! Although you lose the fiber in a juice, the benefits are still wide-ranging. Read on to learn about the benefits of each ingredient:
Ginger - can reduce inflammation in the body and help with nausea
Lemon - one lemon contains over half the amount of vitamin C needed daily
Carrots - the quantity in Bunny Juice fulfills the daily requirement for vitamin A (for vision health)
Green Apples - contains many important minerals for overall health, such as iron, potassium, zinc and copper
