Brookwood PA is very excited to bring Richard Weissbourd to our community!
Richard Weissbourd is a Senior Lecturer at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He is the director of the Making Caring Common Project, a national effort to make moral and social development priorities in child-raising and to provide strategies to schools and parents for promoting in children caring, a commitment to justice, and other key moral and social capacities.
Making Caring Common has worked towards identifying and creating strategies for parents and caregivers that effectively develop children’s gratitude, empathy, and diligence. Rick’s presentation to the Brookwood parent community will focus on caring and happiness while discussing national trends in the country as parents push students for higher aspects of success. He will share how this is becoming detrimental to the happiness and achievement of children. Rick will also provide tools for parents and caregivers to raise caring and happy kids and support their well-being.
