Sign Up For Conferences and Half-Day Auxiliary Programs

Parent/Teacher Conferences are upon us on Thursday, November 3 from 12:00 - 6:00 p.m. and Friday, November 4 from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Due to teachers hosting conferences over the course of that day and a half, there will be a noon dismissal on Thursday and no school on Friday. To support families, we are offering auxiliary programs on these two days. Below, you'll find details on how to sign up for conferences, instructions on creating your parent portal account if you haven't done so, and details on the auxiliary program offerings with registration links.

Parent/Teacher Conferences Sign-up for Parent/Teacher Conferences will begin tomorrow, Thursday, October 20 at 11:00 a.m., and will be available until Wednesday, November 2 at 8:00 a.m. Tomorrow, between 11:00 - 11:15 a.m. a Parent/Teacher Conference link will appear in your Brookwood Veracross Parent Portal. After clicking the link in the Parent Portal for a teacher conference, a web page will open giving you access to each teacher or advisor offering conference times. Click the drop-down menu of conference times next to the teacher’s name to select your conference choice. After selecting your conference time, it will appear in the “My Schedule” box on the right side of the window. Important Things to Note:

  • We have learned from experience that i-devices such as iPhones and iPads are not always the best tools to sign up for conference times because of the screen size or software.

  • When you are finished selecting your conference times in the Parent Portal, click the blue printer button next to “My Schedule” to download a PDF for you to print.

  • If you no longer need the time you selected you may click the x located to the right of your conference time to unregister it and select a new time. If you need to make a change to your conference time after Wednesday morning at 8 a.m., please email the teacher/team directly.

  • Please be sure to note your conference time and date on your own personal calendars, as parents will not receive any email reminder or notification after they select a time and date.

Setting Up Your Parent Portal Account in Veracross On Monday, October 17 at approximately 11:30 a.m., Brookwood sent an email from Veracross to all parents who did not have their Veracross Parent Portal accounts set up. This must be done before you can sign up for Parent/Teacher Conferences. If you cannot find the Monday email, please check your spam folder. Also, you can try to visit: https://accounts.veracross.com/brookwood/portal/login Then:

  • Click "Can't access your account"

  • Enter your email address on file with Brookwood and then click "Send Instructions."

  • Look for the email from Veracross.com and follow the instructions contained within.

If you still have problems, contact Doug Fodeman. Half Day Program Registration is Open! Brookwood School will have a noon dismissal for Grades EC - 8 on Thursday, November 3 for the start of parent-teacher conferences. We have an exciting and engaging half-day program available for all ages from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.! We’ll also be offering an extended day option from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. You’ll find details for both programs below. Please be aware that there are limited spots available and you must pre-register your child. Slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Lunch will be provided. Registration for these programs will close on October 30th, 2022, though it may close sooner if/when specific groups hit their maximum enrollment limits.

*During your parent/teacher conference time slot(s), drop-in coverage is available in the library for Brookwood students free of charge on November 3 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and November 4 from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. No sign-up necessary! Please note that drop-in coverage is not available from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. on November 3rd.

Auxiliary Program Details Thursday, November 3 (Half-Day/noon dismissal for all students)

  • Half-Day Programming From 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. (No drop-ins during this time)

    • Description: This program will include lunch, snack, two recesses, and 2-3 stations (sports, games, activities, etc.) with Brookwood faculty and After School staff. Students will be grouped by age: EC/K, 1st & 2nd, 3rd - 5th, and 6th - 8th.

    • Time: 12:00 - 4:00 p.m.

    • Fee: $50

    • Location: Various locations around campus, indoors and outdoors

    • Pre-registration: Required (below)

    • Please note: We are not able to accommodate drop-ins during this timeframe. If you need childcare during these hours, please enroll your child(ren) for the full 4-hour program. If you’d prefer drop-in care during your conference time, there is drop-in coverage available after 4:00 p.m. on Thursday and all day on Friday (more information on Drop-Ins below).

  • Dismissal Plan:

  • Families whose students are solely in the Lower school can use Dan Wise Way and pick up in the car line under the Portico at 4:00 p.m.

    • Families with students in just Upper school or “Crossover families” (families with both Upper and Lower school students) can pick up their children via the car line on the Courtyard at 4:00 p.m.

    • If you want to pick up your child prior to 4:00 p.m., please see Alicia at the front desk and she will radio to the team who will get your child(ren) to you in the lobby.

    • Students staying until 6:00 p.m. for the movie will be taken by staff from this half-day program to the 4:00 - 6:00 programming in the library. This extended movie program requires a separate registration (below).

    • Movie Programming From 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.

      • Description: During this time, we will be playing a movie in the library, as well as providing a few other calm-body activities like reading and coloring

      • Time: 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.

      • Fee: $10 (if your child is regularly enrolled in After School on Thursdays after 4:00, this fee will be waived)

      • Location: Library

      • Pre-registration: Required (below), and separate from the 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. Half-Day registration

    • Drop-In Programming Between 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.

      • Description: Students may be signed into the library on a “drop in” basis while their adults head to their conference(s). Students will be supervised and able to do calm-body choices like reading, coloring, and puzzles. Please note, this service only covers the length of your conference(s). If you need childcare beyond your conference time, please sign up for the movie programming listed above.

      • Time: 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.

      • Fee: Free

      • Location: Library

      • No Pre-registration Required Please sign your students into the library upon your arrival and sign them out when you pick them up

Friday, November 4 (No School - all students)

  • Drop In Programming 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

    • Description: Students may be signed into the library on a “drop in” basis while their adults head to their conference(s). Students will be supervised and able to do calm-body choices like reading, coloring, and puzzles. Please note, this service only covers the length of your conference(s). There is no full-day Auxiliary Program available on this day.

    • Time: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

    • Fee: Free

    • Location: Library

    • No Pre-registration Required Please sign your students into the library upon your arrival and sign them out when you pick them up
