Towels to Toys Textile Drive sponsored by the Environmental Club

How it Works

Bring in your old towels, blankets, and old bed sheets to school. We will have a drop off bin at Brookwood. Once we have what we need we will take these donations to Cape Ann Animal Aid and they will turn them into toys and use them to fill crates. We will also split up the rest of the donations and give them to local shelters, such as the Salem Animal Rescue League.

What You Can Bring

For this textile drive you may bring…

  • Old towels

  • Bed sheets

  • Blankets

Please do not bring…

  • Clothing

  • Any extra donations (those may be donated directly to the shelter)

How it Helps With the Environment

  • 85% of our clothes end up in landfills.

  • This drive will help turn old towels and clothes that would be in landfills into lifelong toys for puppies in need

  • In 2018, 17 million tons of textile waste ended up in landfills, according to data from the Environmental Protection Agency, making up 5.8 percent of the total MSW generation that year.
