Vanta Leagues

Vanta is a youth esports development program with expert coaching for kids (roughly ages 8-14). Our team-based learning platform provides a structured and safe community for youth to learn skills that lead to college scholarships and build meaningful friendships. Players at Brookwood will play RocketLeague as their esports program. There are many benefits to gaming and competing in an organized esports league. Besides the skills developed just by gaming, competitive gaming adds an extra layer of benefits for participation. These benefits, such as learning teamwork, making friends, and being a part of a community are some of the same skills that are learned when competing in traditional sports. While gaming itself does have its benefits, esports allows players to refine their skills in a safer and more organized environment.

Cooking Around the World

Note student food sensitivities

Do you love to cook? Want to know more recipes? In this unique cooking class for young kids, students learn all about food: how to make it, how to make it safely, and how to use it for good! You’ll learn about food safety, meet new friends, and cook some (oven-less) recipes from all 6 inhabited continents. Everything you cook will be easy to make and suitable for after-school cooking: including “easy pizza”, Japanese Onigiri (Rice Balls), and other finger-foods from Africa, Asia, and South America. During sessions, you and your friends will play fun cooking games, learn about math through the process of measurement, and donate food you make to local charities in order to give back to others. At the end of class, you'll have a whole recipe book you can use to impress friends and family at home!

10 sessions, Starting on March 24, 2022

Thursdays from 3:15 - 4:00 p.m. Cost: $250
